75% of Goal Reached

We made it to 75% towards our current goal! THANK YOU! Now let’s get Kim’s GoFundMe to 80% ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ’•Kim has dedicated her life to fighting for others, advocating for those with rare diseases. Research funding has already been shockingly low and is now being slashed even more under the current administration. When funding disappears, so do answers, treatments, and hope for those who need it most.

Kim still has a long road ahead—surgeries, recovery, and so much healing to do. She’s not just fighting for herself, but for all of her children who also live with Chronic Lyme disease and the cascade of other conditions that that stem from that. And true to who she is, she’s determined to keep healing so she can help others in the rare disease community.

We’ve come so far, and we’re beyond grateful. But she still needs our support to get through this time. Every donation, every share, every ounce of love helps her keep going. Let’s push her past 80% today! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’œ Links in bio!

Update from Kim’s Healing Journey

It’s been about two weeks since Kim returned home from Hawaii, and right now the focus is simple but vital: monitor,  rest and recovery . The medical team has made it clear that this is top priority. Kim’s body has been through a lot—her system responds intensely to procedures, and this has added layers of complexity that doctors are working to better control. Further testing is scheduled for late August to evaluate her brain, vascular compressions, and jugular veins. The medical team is specifically monitoring Kim’s right jugular vein, which collapsed post surgically, to see if rest, time and reduced swelling will allow it to re-open. These results will help guide decisions about what comes next and when. It’s not the update Kim hoped for. She had been holding onto the hope that this chapter might finally be closing—but for now, it’s a “wait and heal” season. We continue to cheer her on and hold the vision of her receiving the very best care at every turn. ๐Ÿ’œ #LymeDisease #HAE #He...

Big Moves Are Underway for Kim's Next Chapter

Thank you for your patience, compassion, and ongoing physical and financial support for the Gifford Family . It is time for Kim to focus on what lies ahead, and your kind support is needed.  Please understand that Kim has experienced challenging months filled with numerous setbacks. She continues to suffer from severe symptoms that make it impossible for her to engage in everyday tasks. If you know Kim well, you know that bringing this resilient Italian woman down takes a lot. Unfortunately, she is facing serious issues due to the remaining blockages in her brain, the right jugular vein, and the lower veins that usually carry blood back to the heart. Additionally, blockages are affecting her left kidney and right pelvis, all of which are contributing to her health challenges. The body's venous system does the vital work of taking all the blood back to the heart. The root cause of Kim’s collapsed and blocked veins is Lyme Disease , Ehlers-Danlos and Eagle’s Syndrome rather than ...
